About me
I grew up in Delhi, in a traditional household. We recited the texts and did the pujas, and nobody ever told us what any of it meant. I left home at seventeen.
I studied engineering and then management, at BITS Pilani and London Business School, which is what middle class Indian kids are told to do. Then I spent fourteen years in London, first as an investor and then as a tech founder.
I had my share of ups and downs, in business and in my own life. That is what sent me looking. It started with Buddhism, went through the other religions, and came back to my own Hindu roots.
I was in therapy for most of those years (and still am). Somewhere in there I started noticing the same few messages turning up everywhere. In the scriptures, in psychology, in neuroscience. Different words, same instructions.
The last two years I have spent in the Himalayas, meditating and reading.
There is far more in those texts than anyone told us.
I am going through them one verse at a time and writing down what I think they are actually saying, for people living the way I was living.
I have started with the Hanuman Chalisa. It is my favourite.
